Contest Monday with signed book by Carrie Harris

My vacation month flew by in a blur, and I can't believe my son is back in school already. It doesn't seem fair that the neighborhood pool and school should be open simultaneously...what happened to the "after Labor Day" start of school? Anyhoo, Valerie is still soaking up the culture in Amsterdam, and Lacey and I really hope she doesn't decide to stay there. But we didn't come back to the blog empty handed--we have a giveaway for you!

The zombie-riffic Carrie Harris signed a copy of Bad Taste in Boys for us. The inscription is even cooler, because she wrote "Sisters in Scribe rocks." Yeah, we know, but it's still nice to hear. Carrie was gracious enough to let me interview her back in November, and you can check that out here. I've read the book and it's awesome, so we're giving it away to one of our amazing followers.

The rules are simple--mainly because it's my first week back to the blog and the idea of doing a spreadsheet makes my head hurt. Leave a comment telling us how you would handle a zombie infestation in your high school (or how you would have handled it, if you're, um, older). We'll pick the most creative and/or funniest comment as the winner. You have to be a follower to enter, but that's it. Spreading the word is appreciated, but not required. Good luck!

Contest ends: Sun. 8/14 at 10pm EST. You must be a follower of this blog to enter.

  1. Ha. I definitely would have screamed like a baby, grabbed some supplies and locked myself in a windowless room until it all washed over. And then probably died of fright there.

  4. I'm the most uncoordinated, clumsy person I know so I would TRY to arm myself but, in all honesty, I'd probably end up tripping on a board and falling on a rusty nail before the zombies ever got to me =/

hmm...if it happened AT my high school!? First I would probably grab my lunchbox (hopefully this happens at lunch) because I have like, enough food to feed an army in there, then run to...you know, all the rooms in my high school would suck if a zombie apocolypse happend, but I would probably go to the gym, cause there are like, reinforced windows, but there are no computers, so I couldn't email for help, but thank God i have a phone with a data plan, right? But maybe I would want an excape route...so yeah, the gym, cause that way, I would be pretty safe.

  6. My husband is zombie obsessed and he is always talking about "preparing for the zombie takeover." The first thing we would probably do would be head for the hills...or rather one of the million Amish farms that are close by. They keep sharp, pointy things laying around with lots of yummy country food. I would them arm myself with a glass of sweet tea and sit out on the porch with my bloodhound puppy for a front row seat to all the action. Because, let's face it, I'm too lazy to fight a bunch of undead people who can't die.

  9. After the initial running around and panicking and screaming my head off, I would gather weapons and supplies to hunker down somewhere secure and survive. Honestly, I would probably be savagely eaten by zombies because there's really no safe place in a zombie situation.

  10. If I didn't die in the initial shock of the invasion, there would be gathering of many weapons and preferably a tank. Also supplies, lots of supplies.

  11. I was a cheerleader in high school so i would say i would have to do toe-touches to kick them in the face to ward them off (if that's still even physically possible for me)!! otherwise i would have to try to poision them with cafeteria food Ugh Gross!! haha

  12. I'd have directed them to my Latin teacher. She could've scared the Undead into being really dead.

  13. If there was a zombie infestation at my high school, I'm pretty sure the kids at my school would have challenged those zombies into dance-offs or basketball games and hopefully distracted them enough so that our beloved janitor could run them over with his golf cart, then we could the bodies in the swamps behind our school or the lake that is infested with alligators... so many options ;)

  16. I'd bite the zombies :D I mean if a zombie bite turns a human into a zombie then it logically follows that a human bite turns a zombie into a human right? Failing that, I'll bore the zombies to death with mindless (or should I say brainless) teenage chatter.
