And books that I thought sounded pretty good, but whose cover made them seem awesome. Like these:
Upcoming Covers I'm drooling over:
I've tried to figure out just what it is that draws me to these covers but they're all pretty diverse. I'm definitely drawn to images that are outside, and not so much to faces. I also tend to like photographs more than drawings. I like images convey a mood - preferably a darker one. And images that are striking but I'm not that good at pointing out just what it is that makes them striking!
What about you? What are you drawn to in a cover? What are some of your favorites?

I'm OBSESSED with the "Matched" cover!!! And I agree about "Shiver" - made the book look even better. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those are all GORGEOUS!! Especially loving the covers for Matched, Wither and Oblivion Road.
ReplyDeleteBook covers are one of my happy addictions! Oh how you torture me...now I have to go get the books with the pretty covers that I don't own yet. lol.
ReplyDeleteI also like creepy covers (a la The Replacment), but the Matched cover is pure awesome and perfect given the story.
ReplyDeleteA cover makes a difference for me in whether I'll pick up a book in the bookstore or not--I'm all about cover love.
I love all of these! And I wanted to add a couple more.
ReplyDeleteFALLEN by Lauren Kate. This book was just okay for me, I expect TORMENT (also a GREAT cover) to be a little more interesting. Not only does it look amazing, it feels really cool too.
And I haven't seen the final cover for LOW RED MOON by Ivy Devlin, but I just know it will be AMAZING. And this is a must read for us werewolf lovers. Don't miss that one when it comes out in September.
